Dorm Plastic Shower Caddy
Dorm room necessaties on a budget?
I'm getting ready to shop for my dorm and I need some ideas of what to bring and what stores to shop at. Bed and Bath Beyond is too expensive, is IKEA a good place? I'll be living in a community-style dorm with one roomate. My college will provide a laptop come September. I need the absolute necessaties, things I won't be able to survive without. Thanks!
So far I have:
- Shower caddy
- flip flips for shower
- XL sheets (bedding)
- alarm clock
- hamper
- microfridge (will rent w/roomate)
- desk lamp/school
- hygiene products
- first aid kit
* I will NOT be buying a TV (no room and a HUGE distraction)
*Should I buy plastic bins or use colorful carboard boxes to store stuff? I hear carboard is easier to dispose and get rid off in the summer?
Dollar store. Target. Wal-Mart.
Doesn't matter what you store your stuff in. I prefer cardboard, but there is the possibility of it getting wet. Plastic bins offer a bit more durability. And they can be see through, which is useful when you're looking for stuff.
Smart move not buying a TV. You can watch many TV shows online for free. Hulu is a pretty good website; the networks usually post the latest episodes of their shows on their respective websites as well.
